When I was young, I used to look forward to “old age” because I honestly thought (shh, don't laugh!) that adults had everything figured out (I told you not to laugh!) and that a trove of endless wisdom, knowledge and understanding would await after having survived life’s trials and tribulations. Now I just realize that the only reward for getting old is a lifetime of neurosis that only snowballs and gets exaggerated by anxiety and a bad back.
